We are honored to have the following music industry leaders lend us their support as members of MAM’s Advisory Board:
Phil Miller | President, DCM
Phil is one of the most knowledgeable and experienced telemarketing professionals for non-profit organizations in the North America. Since 1985, he has worked in virtually every capacity of not-for-profits, starting as a caller, and working his way up through the ranks. He has been involved in designing and implementing a wide range of telemarketing and telefundraising campaigns for many major non-profits across the U.S. and Canada.
Phil has a deep, personal commitment to the arts, is a former professional musician and founder and former director of the Phil Miller Big Band.
Mark Montgomery is Nashville’s most well-known music and tech entrepreneur. He has been working in the digital and web space since 1992, when he launched one of the first five companies in the U.S. that sold music on the web. In 1999, co-founded the firm echomusic, which managed the digital businesses of some of the biggest entertainers in the world.
echomusic was sold to IAC in 2007, and post his exit in 2009, Mark worked as the Entrepreneur in Residence for Claritas Capital; helped launch the Nashville Entrepreneur Center; worked on the launch of the Music City Music Council; and generally worked to help grow the Nashville entrepreneurial ecosystem as an advocate, mentor and investor. To say he has his fingers in a lot of pies would be an understatement.
Mark recently founded FLO | CO, a cutting edge think tank and investment firm focused on starting companies in the entertainment and consumer space. He also sits on the boards of several for profit and not for profit companies. He and his wife, Joanna, live in on a ridge in Pegram with their daughter, Magnolia, three dogs, two cats, and a fish named Bob.
